Last week the President was in La Jolla raising money. He was in the right place; he went to La Jolla, not El Centro. Our president had his considerable security detail as well as sheriffs deputies from the San Diego county for protection. Who could be safer than the president in La Jolla.
San Diego is a may-issue county with a won't-issue sheriff. Last night a 68 year old self employed cab driver was fatally shot and his cab stolen by two assailants. Even La Jolla is a dangerous neighborhood. So what is the difference between the president and a cab driver?
After a disarmed cab driver is shot, we see that both need personal protection. Only one was allowed protection by San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore.
